Combining filters and analysis

Combining metadata, context and analysis filters is essential for refining large datasets and extracting meaningful insights:

  • Apply Filters Strategically: Use metadata filters (e.g., publication dates and repositories) to narrow down datasets. For example, restrict results to a specific timeframe or repository relevant to your study.
  • Leverage Context Filters: Write detailed context filters (50–100 words) to pinpoint articles with specific thematic relevance. Iterate on these filters by adjusting their scope or applying multiple filters for intersectional insights, akin to creating a "Venn diagram of contexts".
  • Integrate Analysis Results: Use the Analyze tool to identify prevalent concepts and topics within your dataset. Include or exclude these as criteria in your filtering process to iteratively focus your dataset.
