Iris.ai collaborates with the University of Helsinki to enhance the research discovery operations of students, researchers and librarians.

Oslo, Norway – February 25, 2022 – Iris.ai, a world leading developer of AI tools for scientific research, is moving into its fourth year of collaboration with the University of Helsinki to provide AI powered tools for an effective literature discovery & review process. The University of Helsinki started a pilot collaboration with Iris.ai on April 1st 2018 to test the core tools that enable searching, filtering and result list analysis. After successful evaluation, the university agreed on a continued license to foster AI literacy among students and support their research needs with the state-of-the-art technology. Thus, the Helsinki University Library acts as an innovation hub that attracts a lot of students and patrons who want to stay ahead of the curve with the AI-power research techniques.

As a library educator, I love to show off with Iris.ai! It’s great to see how the audience’s interest wakes up, when they see Iris.ai creating a visual concept map – that they then can edit to meet their information needs even better. In addition to the wow effect, Iris.ai also actually helps make new interdisciplinary discoveries, while also supporting open science.” Katri Larmo, Information Specialist  at University of Helsinki says.

This statement is supported by a number of  positive feedbacks from students who participated in the workshops conducted by the Iris.ai team for the University. Statements include: “Using Iris.ai significantly helps finding relevant literature and organizing main topics and concepts” or “Iris.ai seems to be a wonderful tool while starting a new project”.

Anita Schjøll Brede, the CEO of Iris.ai is delighted with the partnership. “We’ve been collaborating with the University of Helsinki for several years now and have always loved getting to work with their students, staff and researchers! It’s the biggest university in Finland and sets an example for other academic institutions in the country – and of course, the entire Finnish educational system sets a great forward-thinking example for the rest of the world, as always. The interest in the Iris.ai tools on the University of Helsinki campus is very high due to the great job their librarians do to promote them. We are very happy to have a client like this and look forward to continuing our collaboration in the future!” she declares.
